Ill probably start using more talc again in stators.
Since epoxy costs about 3x more than polyester Ill stick with polyester in stators.
It takes a bit less than a quart of resin to make magnet rotors - and I’ve had enough problems recently that Im leaning towards using epoxy for them - or… maybe even bolting the magnets down but probably not.
I didn’t play with Urethane resins at all - I should’ve cast some, I do have some around. I’ve used Urethane in the past and my experience has been that it’s too flexible for stators. It might work well on magnet rotors - I don’t know much about the stuff. I know other folks use it - but I think they generally cast smaller parts. I expect urethane is fine for that - but for larger parts it just seems too flexible - perhaps there are variations of the stuff though.
